I ALWAYS BELIEVED IN KANYE

"I WAS JUST LISTENING TO WENDY WILLIAMS AND HEARD SOME QUOTE ABOUT ME SAYING I'M THE NEW KING OF POP. NOT ONLY DID I NOT SAY THAT, I HAVEN'T SAID ANYTHING. IT MAKES ME FEEL BAD THAT OBVIOUSLY I MADE PEOPLE FEEL THAT I WOULD BE CORNY ENOUGH TO SAY SOMETHING SO WHACK AFTER THE PASSING OF AN IDOL, A LEGEND AND MORE THAN THAT A HUMAN BEING WITH FEELINGS AND FAMILY. IT SCARES ME TO THINK WHAT PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE, WITHOUT EVEN A SOURCE. ANY RANDOM PERSON CAN TYPE SOMETHING ON THE INTERNET AND THEN THE WORLD BELIEVES IT. I DON'T TALK TO PRESS OR DO TV OR DO PROMOTIONS OF ANY SORT. I'VE STOPPED CHASING AND BUYING INTO FAME. FAME IS LIKE CIGARETTES WITH NO SURGEON GENERAL WARNING. IT DESTROYS MOST PEOPLE AS IT DID TO THE TRUE AND ONLY KING OF POP. WE EXPLOIT OURSELVES AND EAT OUR OWN EGOS 'TILL THERE IS NOTHING LEFT. I HAVE A FEELING THAT THIS WON'T BE THE LAST FALSE STATEMENT WITH MY NAME ON IT, BUT THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME I DEFEND MYSELF. I'M DONE."

This is Kanye's true statement on how he never said he was the next King of Pop....I know your confident Ye but your not a huge dick head...

I LOVE YOU

Shhhhh don't tell anyone but you will always be my king of pop

A Little Food News

Hopefully someday I will grow the balls to wear this in public

As many people know, I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of cooking; whether it be doing it on my own, watching shows like Top Chef and Iron Chef, or reading about it. My sister informed me of some interesting news, that Rocco Cima(pictured below), a DJ from Q102, will be opening a restaurant on Passyunk Avenue in South Philly. At first I thought it would not look remotely appealing but after checking out the menu and idea, it seems pretty intriguing. Read more about it here: http://philadelphia.grubstreet.com/2009/07/what_to_eat_at_fuel_opening_se.html

Believe it or not, this guy can cook.

The Food Network had a show last year called The Next Iron Chef in which numerous well-known executive chefs competed over weeks to become, yes you guessed, the Next Iron Chef. Last year Michael Symon beat John Besh which I was not very enthused about because John Besh is a boss and Michael Symon is kind of annoying. But this year, Philadelphia's own Jose Garces will be competing on the show, which begins October 4th. He owns a few restaurants in Philly, none of which I have been to but I certainly plan to. He was actually a challenger on Iron Chef America not too long ago and he kicked the habaneros out of Bobby Flay.

Top Chef Las Vegas contestants

Jose Garces is not the only chef from Philadelphia that will be competing on a cooking show this year, 2 others will be on Top Chef Las Vegas. They would be Jennifer Zavala(pitcured above, 5th from left) from El Camino Real and Jennifer Carroll(pictured above, middle, wearing black) from Eric Ripert's 10 Arts. I have not been to either and don't really plan on going because both are pretty damn expensive. Top Chef Las Vegas starts August 26th and I am very excited for it, partially because I get to see Padma and Gail more often.

dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, I made it out of CLAE

Clae, one of my favorite newer shoe brands have released some pictures of their new kicks that will be arriving in stores (NOT FOOT LOCKER) in the Fall....I'm glad that the new cool thing to do for sneaker heads is make a clean looking shoe with maybe two colors at the most with a white sole...I'm really feeling this trend and I hope to pick up some of this new collection when Ubiq starts to pick these suckers up.

Just Another Cudi Post

This video makes me want to see him so badly when he comes to Philly.

Embrace the Martian from ibn jasper on Vimeo.

Although the bass in the video is a little messed up, it still looks sick. I hope that I get to witness this greatness live.

The Will Ferrel Dunk

Yes finally one of Will's characters finally gets his own dunk...
Can you guess which character it is by the picture?

Yes it is Ron Burgandy???? I like the concept but the shoe is pretty ugly

What up Art?

I'm a big fan of art, I think it's quite similar to music. Just raw unfiltered expression of the artist. You can take the art or music and have your own interpretation which is always fun.

Upcoming Films

There are two movies that I am very excited to see later on this year. Up has been my favorite so far but then again, I haven't seen many in theaters. The one that I am most excited for is Where the Wild Things Are. The movie is directed by Spike Jonze and he wrote the screenplay along with Dave Eggers, who is one of my favorite authors. It was probably my favorite book as a kid and that contributes to my excitement for it, along with the trailer which looks amazing.

The other movie I am excited about is Fantastic Mr. Fox. It is an adaptation of the children's book of the same written by Roald Dahl. The film is directed by Wes Anderson and features the voices of regulars in Anderson's films such as Bill Murray, George Clooney, Jason Schwartzman, and Ryan's favorite, Owen Wilson. There is no trailer out yet but some stills from the movie appeared online recently and they look pretty sweet.

You can see more pictures from Fantastic Mr. Fox here: http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/l090724_mister_fox/flash.htm?gid=1114&aid=5104

Where the Wild Things Are and Fantastic Mr. Fox come out in theaters October 16, 2009 and November 13, 2009, respectively.

Kanye West Concert on Fuse

As I tried to tell everyone last night Kanye Performed a sweet concert on the fuse network, similar to his vh1 storytellers show...but he performed a totally different set. He did Jesus Walks, Hey Mama, Heartless, and a bunch of other songs...it was quite ill

I forget which songs are in this video but it doesn't matter cause you should watch it anyway....I myself recorded the show to watch again later...

Village Thrift Adventure

So today my girlfriend and I were bored so she convinced me to head to Village Thrift. A thrift store that built a reputation around our area for having some cool stuff (if you look hard enough). I tried to look around but I just got seriously creeped out by most of the stuff and people. I have been there before, awhile back, but I guess my style has changed since then.

First find was this O.J. Simpson T-Shirt...on the back it said free O.J. let the Juice go...

Creepy statues, and a giant California Raisin

Candle wicks and items that look like they could possibly have a Genie in it

Last but not least half naked dolls in vacuum sealed bags..
What a Good Day

Man Necklaces???

I have been debating whether or not to purchase and start rocking a man necklace...some people are for it some are against it...I like to be different when it comes to my Vin Steezel aka (my style) but sometimes I feel like I could pull off a man necklace and other days I feel I am incapable of doing such. One day soon you will see me with a dope ass man necklace on and you will want one to (hopefully)

Cantina

Ryan and I tried to go to Cantina a few months back but I had some car trouble on the way there and we never got to go. Today, we finally made it over to Cantina Los Caballitos in South Philly. I had been there before and thought it was excellent and I still feel the same way. We shared these amazing fried plantains, Ryan got chicken tacos which looked delectable and I got the vegetarian quesadilla with mushrooms, cheese, and some other things that I can't remember.

Thankfully they give you chips when you sit down because we were both starving when we got there. I like Taco House's chips better but both salsas were good.
These are the amazing fried plantains. They were sweet and delicious.
Ryan's chicken tacos which looked very appetizing. Seeing them made me want to eat meat again.
The vegetarian quesadilla served with sour cream, lettuce, pico de gallo, and some white substance which I used up. It was tasty, or as the guy in the song "Fergalicious" says, "T to the A, to the S-T-E-Y."

Eating chips (like a boss).
Look at that stache!
I couldn't leave out the shots of the always stunning South Philly.

So there you have it boys and girls, the first documentation of our first real culinary adventure. More are sure to come. Keep it locked.

Kinda Not Like a Big Deal

This dunk did not deserve all the hype it received. I am quite disappointed, and I can only assume there are many more people who feel the same way.

Dope Bikes

Some of you may or may not know that Tim and I are avid bikers. Recently Tim just taught me how to ride a bike (no Joke) and it only took two days..but recently I have relized my Grandma's Bike isn't really fit to ride around town any more. Since we've been riding everyday it just gets beat more and more each day, and I feel like its going to fall apart any day now...So I have been looking at places like Walmart (I know they are evil),Target, and Sears for a new bike..As soon as I get rich and famous though I will purchase bikes like these....
